Digitizing Power Grids for a Greener world

Economic stimulus packages introduced in the U.S. and Canada are set to fast-track the adoption of renewable energy, establishing electricity as the backbone of the North American energy system.

Achieving a carbon-free energy system by 2050*, will also double the electricity consumption. Here, digital technologies will play a key role in building a smarter, more resilient power grid, enabling energy organizations to optimize and integrate more renewable energy sources.

As IoT-enabled smart devices, machinery, and equipment become cheaper, it will lower the cost of green energy solutions, but there is still a need to build a connected grid ecosystem that can monitor and respond to fluctuations in energy demand.

Digitalization and the future of energy are correlated. Leveraging data analytics in energy can enable optimal use of power by eliminating excess power losses while maintaining grid operations at an optimal level.

With the inclusion of energy leaders like Hitachi, we can expect the transition towards a carbon-free future to be more affordable, manageable, and feasible for the masses.
